About Me

I have been counseling now for three years having started my counseling career in Burley and Twin Falls, Idaho. I utilize an integrated approach which combines elements of Cognitive-Behavioral, Adlerian, and Existential therapies. I attempt to use this integrated approach to create a treatment plan for each client that is tailored to their needs. I began my career as a counselor at Positive Connections, LLC, an agency in Twin Falls that provides a myriad of services to disabled persons as well as clients with mental conditions. I began there as a substance abuse educator and teaching anger management classes.  I received my LPC license in the State of Idaho on October 7, 2009 and left Idaho for the State of Texas on May 28, 2011. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas since June 7, 2011. I received my MS in Community and AgClark Griffin, III, Anger in Children, Teenagers, Adolescents, Robinson, TX, Bell Countyency Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho on July 31, 2009. I additionally have a BA in Journalism and Anthropology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, a technical certificate and an AAS in Human Services from the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho, and a Diploma of Pastoral Ministries from Seminary Extension of the Southern Baptist Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. Additionally, I have served as pastor of two home churches -- Calvary Baptist fellowship of Carson City, Nevada from 1998-2000 and Calvary Baptist Fellowship of Rupert, Idaho from 2000-2011. I was a journalist for several Texas newspapers from 1984-1995 and a freelance journalist for the newspaper in Carson City, Nevada. Through all of these various jobs and many others I have worked with diverse groups of people and diverse cultures, including homeless persons as well as persons involved in substance abuse. I am presently seeking a PhD in pyschology with a specialization in general psychology from Capella University. I graduated from Robinson High School in Waco, Texas in 1980 and attended McLennan Community College in Waco, before transferring to Baylor University. I am a member of the Heart of Texas Counseling association, Waco, Texas, the Texas Counseling Association, the American Counseling Association, and the American Association of Christian Counselors.
